WeSwap.com was a peer-to-peer travel money and currency exchange platform based in London.
It connected travelers needing opposite currency directions, allowing them to swap money directly without relying on traditional banks or exchange bureaus. Founded by Jared Jesner and Simon Sacerdoti, WeSwap aimed to make foreign exchange more affordable and transparent for travelers. The platform offered several services, including currency exchange through a matching model, a mobile app for managing travel money, and a prepaid Mastercard linked to users' accounts. It supported multiple currencies and provided features for tracking exchange rates and sending money to friends. Users could exchange at or near the interbank rate, benefiting from transparent fees and reduced costs. By June 2019, WeSwap had gained significant traction, with around 500,000 users and over £255 million exchanged. However, the company is now defunct, with its status listed as out of business.
