New funds · read from SEC filings nightly
Firms that filed with the SEC to raise a venture or private-equity fund in the last eighteen months. The one list here that does not depend on a journalist: a firm that has closed capital has money to deploy, whether or not we have watched it spend any. US filers only.

Firms whose latest fund filing fell in each month. Busiest: October 2026, with 981.
The last bar is the month so far.
Each square is one per cent of the 8,595 filings that state a size.
In the list's own order: cheques observed, then name. The bar is cheques written since the fund was filed: the ones already putting the new money to work.

From Form D filings with the SEC: a fund raising money in the US has to file one, and it states the size of the offering. We read them every night.
It means the fund was raising, and usually that a first close has happened. The amount is what the fund said it was raising, not necessarily what it has closed.
A new fund has to be invested over the next few years, so its first cheques go out soon after it closes. The column of cheques since filing shows who has already started.
By the cheques we have observed, then by name. Nobody can pay to move up.
