Volare Solutions

Volare Solutions is a Nordic deeptech company founded in 2021, focused on creating sustainable protein, oil, and fertilizer by upcycling food industry side streams using black soldier fly larvae.

The company aims to address global food system sustainability challenges through its innovative insect-based refining platform, which offers a fully circular process that replaces less sustainable alternatives like soy and fish meal. Headquartered in Uusimaa, Finland, Volare is a spin-off from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. It employs between 11 and 50 people and has secured €26 million in funding from various investors. The company is currently constructing its first commercial-scale facility, Volare 01, in Pori, Finland, which is designed to be the world’s most efficient protein factory. Volare produces high-value ingredients, including sustainable protein for animal feeds, sustainable oil for various applications, and sustainable fertilizer for regenerative agriculture, targeting the growing global protein ingredients market.
