Valo Therapeutics Ltd, also known as ValoTx, is a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Helsinki, Finland.
Founded in 2016 as a spin-out from the University of Helsinki, ValoTx focuses on developing innovative immunotherapies aimed at treating cancer and infectious diseases. The company is recognized for its expertise in oncolytic virotherapy, utilizing a unique platform that combines oncolytic viruses with disease-specific peptide vaccination. Valo's proprietary technology, PeptiCRAd, is central to its approach. This platform merges oncolytic virotherapy with peptide vaccination, allowing for targeted immune responses against cancerous cells. The company's lead product, PeptiCRAd-1, is currently in a Phase 1 clinical trial, designed to treat cancers expressing specific tumor antigens. Additionally, Valo is developing PeptiCHIP, a diagnostic tool for rapid identification of tumor neoantigens, and is exploring strategies to enhance immune responses against viral infections, including Covid-19. Valo Therapeutics aims to provide personalized therapeutic options for patients and support healthcare providers and pharmaceutical partners in advancing immunotherapy solutions.
