Katana Cloud-Connected Encrypted Flash Drive

Today most organizations have concerns regarding data loss. Effective MDM platforms exist for everal types of mobile devices but not for flash drives. As a result flash drives are frequently banned for cloud storage. But cloud storage is generally less than 1/10 the speed of flash drives, complex to set up, requires an internet connection and is incompatible with many systems. The loss of productivity associated with banning flash drives is generally tolerated in order to secure data. Katana is a solution that provides the speed and universal compatibility of a traditional flash drive with the security of a cloud platform. It's a cloud-enabled connected flash drive platform that's managed through a paired mobile device. In fact, because Katana keeps the encryption key and encrypted data separate it's actually more secure than both encrypted flash drives and cloud storage. In the case that cloud storage is desired, a user can upload a file directly to the cloud through the flash drive. We can integrate our system with any organization's preferred cloud service through their API. Furthermore, because Katana needs to be paired to a mobile device any MDM solution implemented for an organization's mobile devices (Airwatch, CA, EMS, etc) automatically extends to Katana. If the mobile device is remotely wiped Katana will be remotely wiped as well. Katana's cloud based MDM software also provides organizations with the following features: Device and remote wipe management -WiFi and Geofencing for automatic device unlocking -Device usage logging, including file transfers -Integration into an organization's existing cloud storage Katana is currently in prototype stage. We have several hardware prototypes and an alpha version of our MDM software. We're currently refining our specifications for a commercial device design and a beta version. We need funding to continue our development efforts.
