Shoes of Prey was a global retail brand founded in April 2009 that allowed women to design their own shoes through a web-based platform.
The company was established by Jodie Fox, Michael Fox, and Mike Knapp, initially launching in Sydney, Australia, before moving its headquarters to Santa Monica, California. Shoes of Prey specialized in mass customization and on-demand manufacturing in the footwear industry. The brand offered a unique 3D design platform where customers could customize various aspects of their footwear, including heel type, toe shape, materials, and embellishments. Shoes were handmade using premium leathers and shipped worldwide to over 100 countries. The company also had physical concession stores in select Nordstrom locations. Shoes of Prey gained recognition for its innovative approach, winning awards such as Online Retailer of the Year at the World Retail Awards in 2013. Despite its initial success, the company ceased operations in July 2019.
