New Incentives

New Incentives is a US-based non-governmental organization founded in 2011, dedicated to increasing childhood vaccination rates in northern Nigeria through conditional cash transfers (CCTs).

The organization operates under the local name All Babies Are Equal (ABAE) Initiative and focuses on providing financial incentives to caregivers, encouraging them to vaccinate their infants against preventable diseases. The organization runs a Childhood Immunization Program, offering caregivers approximately $11 for completing routine vaccinations for their infants. It also has a Maternal Health and HIV Program that provides up to $150 to pregnant women living with HIV or those at risk, contingent on specific health-related actions. New Incentives employs innovative technology, such as electronic code-based payments and voice recognition, to ensure access for the poorest beneficiaries. With a mission to save lives cost-effectively, New Incentives has enrolled over 630,000 caregivers and disbursed more than 2 million cash transfers, significantly impacting healthcare access in the region.
