Lampsy Health is a Portuguese healthtech startup based in Lisbon, founded in November 2024.
The company focuses on developing non-invasive medical devices that detect epileptic seizures using advanced artificial intelligence and computer vision. Its flagship product, the "Lampsy" smart lamp, is designed to blend seamlessly into home environments while providing critical monitoring for epilepsy patients, particularly those at risk of nocturnal seizures. The Lampsy smart lamp features a 99% accuracy rate in detecting tonic-clonic seizures and significantly reduces false alarms compared to existing devices. It sends real-time alerts to family members and caregivers upon detection of a seizure and is currently being piloted in seven hospitals in Lisbon. Lampsy Health is working towards obtaining medical device certification in the European Union and aims for a commercial launch in Europe by April 2026, with plans for FDA approval to enter the US market by 2027. The company is committed to enhancing the safety and quality of life for individuals living with epilepsy.
