Viv Labs

Viv Labs is a software company based in San Jose, California, founded in 2012.

It developed Viv, an advanced artificial intelligence platform and conversational personal assistant created by the original team behind Siri. In 2017, Viv Labs was acquired by Samsung Electronics, and by 2021, it was fully integrated into Samsung, with its technology forming the foundation of the Bixby voice assistant. Viv was designed as an open AI platform that provided a conversational interface for interacting with various devices and services using natural language. It featured capabilities such as natural language understanding, machine learning, and deployment flexibility across smart devices and applications. Although Viv is no longer available as a standalone product, its technology continues to enhance Samsung's Bixby ecosystem.
