OrganOx Limited is a medical technology company based in Oxford, UK, specializing in advanced organ preservation devices for Normothermic Machine Perfusion (NMP).

Founded in 2008 by Professor Peter Friend and Professor Constantin Coussios, the company aims to address the shortage of donor organs, particularly livers, by extending preservation times and enabling real-time functional assessment of organs before transplantation. OrganOx operates a modern research and production facility and employs around 199 people. The company's flagship product, the OrganOx metra®, is the first commercially available NMP device for liver transplantation. It maintains donor organs at normal body temperature using oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood, allowing for extended preservation and real-time monitoring of organ function. This innovative approach has supported over 6,000 liver transplants globally and has significantly reduced organ discard rates. OrganOx is also developing a normothermic perfusion device for kidney transplantation, with plans for commercialization around 2030.
