Circ® is a textile-to-textile recycling innovator based in Danville, Virginia, founded in 2011.
The company focuses on transforming discarded polycotton fabric into virgin-equivalent raw materials, promoting a circular fashion economy. Circ® employs a patented hydrothermal recycling process that effectively separates and recovers polyester and cellulose from polycotton blends, which have traditionally been difficult to recycle. Circ® is expanding globally with the construction of the world’s first industrial-scale facility dedicated to polycotton recycling in Saint-Avold, France. This $500 million plant is expected to process 70,000 metric tons of material annually and create 200 jobs. The company is recognized as a Certified B Corporation and has received accolades such as being a finalist for the Earthshot Prize in 2023 and being named a TIME Top GreenTech Company. Circ® partners with various fashion brands, including Zara and Patagonia, to recycle polycotton waste and provide regenerated fiber inputs for new textile production.
