Casual Dining Group (CDG) was a prominent independent casual dining restaurant operator in the United Kingdom, founded in 2002.
At its peak, the company managed a diverse portfolio of mid-market restaurants, operating around 280 to 290 locations and employing nearly 8,000 people. CDG served approximately 20 million meals annually across various settings, including leisure parks, shopping centers, airports, and high streets. In January 2020, CDG entered administration and was subsequently sold to private equity firm Epiris, leading to its rebranding as The Big Table Group. The transition preserved around 4,000 jobs across 150 restaurants, while some locations were closed. The Big Table Group continues to operate several well-known brands that were part of CDG, including Bella Italia, Café Rouge, Las Iguanas, and Frankie & Benny's, along with various secondary and concession brands.
