BikeFlip

BikeFlip is a Dutch circular social enterprise based in Utrecht, specializing in a monthly subscription service for refurbished children’s bicycles.

Founded in 2019 and officially launched in 2020, the company aims to reduce the number of unused children's bikes and promote a circular economy by shifting the focus from ownership to use. Their subscription model offers families a properly sized, refurbished bike delivered free of charge, along with home repair services and the option to exchange bikes as children grow. In addition to their core service, BikeFlip refurbishes donated and abandoned bikes for social projects, providing access to bicycles for low-income families, Ukrainian refugees, and undocumented individuals. The company is committed to social and environmental impact, having refurbished over 2,000 bicycles in 2022 and helping more than 750 children ride them. With plans to expand their services nationwide, BikeFlip is dedicated to creating a sustainable and inclusive cycling community in the Netherlands.
