Associated Battery Manufacturers EA (ABM Group) is Kenya’s only battery manufacturing company and the largest in East and Central Africa.

Established in 1963, ABM produces over 900,000 automotive and solar batteries annually and manufactures solar panels with a capacity of 8,400 kilowatts per year. The company is headquartered in Nairobi and employs over 700 staff. ABM specializes in a range of products, including vented and maintenance-free lead-acid batteries, deep-cycle batteries, power back-up systems, solar panels, solar water heaters, and power inverters. The company also recycles over 12,000 metric tonnes of lead metal each year, showcasing its commitment to sustainability. Recently, ABM has expanded into lithium batteries for electric vehicles and introduced the Chloride Exide PowerLast EFB for modern Start-Stop vehicles. With a strong distribution network across East Africa, ABM serves various sectors, including automotive, industrial, and energy storage markets.
