Albedo

Albedo, also known as Albedo Space, is an American aerospace company based in Broomfield, Colorado.

Founded in 2020, Albedo specializes in developing and manufacturing Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellite buses for defense, communications, and specialized payload operators. The company made history by becoming the first commercial operator to sustain satellite operations in VLEO with its satellite, Clarity-1, launched in March 2025. The primary product of Albedo is its VLEO satellite bus, designed to carry various payloads and capture high-resolution imagery. The buses can provide 10cm visible and 2m thermal imagery at aerial-quality resolution. Albedo focuses on serving government defense agencies and specialized payload operators, holding contracts with organizations such as the National Reconnaissance Office and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory. The company aims to scale production to hundreds of satellites per year, contributing to making space more usable and valuable.
