abillion

abillion was a global sustainability platform founded in 2017 by Vikas Garg, based in Singapore.

The app, launched in 2018, allowed users to discover and review vegan food, cruelty-free products, and sustainable brands. The mission was to mobilize one billion people to adopt vegan and sustainable lifestyles by 2030. At its peak, abillion had over 16 million members across 100 to 188 countries and facilitated donations of over $2.8 million to more than 60 nonprofit organizations. The platform featured a mobile application and web platform that enabled users to search for vegan dishes and sustainable products, review items at over 1.2 million restaurants, and earn credits for donations through their reviews. It also included a marketplace for ethically made vegan products and provided feedback tools for businesses to adopt more sustainable practices. Despite its success, abillion announced the closure of its website and app at the end of March 2024 due to funding challenges.
