We publish what we observed, and observation goes wrong: a firm gets credited with someone else's cheque, a website is attached to the wrong company, a fund that is very much still investing looks quiet because the deals it did were never announced. Say so here and a human reads it.

A factual correction is made to the record, and the source we relied on is re-checked. If an outlet reported it wrongly, we keep our record right and say where the claim came from.
A removal request from a firm about its own record is honoured. We do not argue, and we do not require an account, a subscription or a claimed profile first.
What we will not do is remove an accurate, sourced record of a deal that was publicly announced, or change a fund's observed activity because the fund would prefer a different number. The whole product is that the record is not for sale — including to the people it describes.
