## About Kiwix offline

Kiwix is a non-profit organization and open-source software project founded in 2007 in Switzerland.

Its mission is to provide offline access to free educational content for individuals with limited or no internet access. Initially focused on making Wikipedia available offline, Kiwix has expanded to include a wide range of resources, such as public domain books, TED talks, and content from various educational platforms. The software supports over 100 languages and is used in more than 200 countries, including schools, universities, and community centers. The primary product of Kiwix is an offline web browser that utilizes highly compressed.zim files to deliver content without requiring an internet connection. This allows users to access a wealth of information, including all Wikimedia projects and interactive science simulations. Kiwix is available on multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, making it accessible to a diverse audience, including those in remote locations and crisis zones. The software is free to use, share, and distribute, ensuring it reaches those who need it most.
